I haven't seen any bottled coconut water locally...I did see some at Fresh Market in Greenville though.   I have seen places to order it by the case online, but I think it's cheaper for me to get the real thing for $3 per coconut…

Oh Jennifer, I was wanting to know more about coconut water. Short of buying the coconuts, is there a place we can get it locally in a bottle, or maybe somewhere we could get it?

Do you know what one food has the potential to change your life?

Green Vegetables

Vegetables are the most missing food in the typical diet, and leafy green vegetables are lacking most of all. When many people think of vegetables, they have bad memories of their parents making them eat all of their Brussels sprouts or peas before leaving the dinner table. Can you relate?

Truth is, veggies are not scary and are seriously good for you. They are crammed with vitamins A, C, E and K, fiber, folic acid, and many other micronutrients that help with blood purification, cancer prevention and improved circulation. They're like a miracle food!

When thinking about vegetables, be adventurous and go beyond traditional greens like, broccoli or lettuce. Kale is a great, green leafy vegetable that has more nutritional value with fewer calories than almost any other food around. Better yet, it is in season from the middle of winter through the beginning of spring and can be enjoyed in many ways. Some people prefer to eat it raw, while others like it steamed. See what works for your taste buds.

Here is a simple recipe to get you started.

Kale Chips

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Yields: 10 servings or more

Ingredients:
1 to 2 bunches kale
Olive oil

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Remove kale from stalk, leaving the greens in large pieces.
3. Place a little olive oil in a bowl, dip your fingers and rub a very light coat of oil over the kale.
4. Dehydrate 6-8 hours, or until crisp.

*You may also use your oven on the lowest setting if you don't have a deydrator, but keep a good eye on them.

Notes:

* Try different kinds of kale or collard greens.
* For added flavor sprinkle with a little salt or spice, such as curry or cumin after rubbing on olive oil.

The 10-Step Life Renewal Plan

Ask yourself these questions to figure out what's working, reject what's not, and move toward your best decade yet.

1. Does the way you spend your time reflect what's important to you? Make a list of your top five priorities - marriage, children, volunteer work, and so on - and track how many hours you devote to each in a week. If any numbers are too low, recalculate your time budget so you can live according to who you want to be.

2. Does your Blackberry get more… Continue

I have done NO blogging since I finished the Master Cleanse almost two months ago. The bad news is, I am still struggling with getting "enough" raw foods into my diet. The good news is, I have maintained my 10 lb. weight loss, and am now working out at the YMCA 4-5 times a week. I am feeling stronger and… Continue

Master Cleanse Thoughts, and Raw Cashew Cheese Recipe.

So I made it 8 days on the Master Cleanse. The night of the 8th day the lemon concoction gave me severe heartburn. We had guests for the weekend, and they cooked a yummy-smelling dinner here, and I got through that ok, but I had a rough time with heartburn that night. I got up early Sunday (the 9th day) with every intention of continuing on. I had some out-of-town visiting and driving to do (ended up driving 500 miles), so I did the salt water flush and mixed my lemonade for the whole day to… Continue
